5 Pf IMPERIAL EAGLE
BACKGROUND: Issued 1924. Stylised Adler, small postcard format 140 x 90 mm. Single line for the dividing line. Almost identical to P162 except for the dividing line on P162 is thicker and consists of a thick dark green line with light green on each side (3 lines).
There are two versions of this postcard as follows:
P156-I with four straight edges.
P156-II with one or more serrated edges.
In addition to the regular official card described above there were at least 120 private printings, some of which can be seen below.

1. This first P156-I was cancelled in CHEMNITZ on 13th Jul 1925.
2. This second postally used P156-I was cancelled on 11th Nov 1924 in SULINGEN.
2. The following example is an EXPRESS DELIVERY (Durch Eilboten Expres - By Express Courier) from LANGENSALZA to BERLIN sent on Monday, 11th May 1925 and arriving the following day. An extra 30Pf of postage has been provided in order to pay the express delivery fee.
