ZWEITES HEIMATFEST - COLDITZ
SECOND HOME FESTIVAL
(3rd/6th Jul 1926)

BACKGROUND: This postcard commemorates the Second Home Festival held in Colditz from 3rd to 6th Jul 1926. The card was published by Dr. Trenker & Co. Aktiengesellschaft of LEIPZIG and depicts a panaoramic view of the town of Colditz with the infamous Colditz castle in the background. The castle was the site of Oflag IV-C prisoner of war camp for captured Allied solders during the second world war. The image in the bottom-centre of the card is the Coat of Arms of the town.
