OFFICIAL POSTCARD WITH PRIVATE PRINTING

BACKGROUND: Two postcards were issued in 1934 to commemorate the death of Paul von Hindenburg. The first has a 5 Rpf pre-printed stamp P234 and the second has a darker 6 Rpf stamp (Michel 235). P235 exists in two variants: P235a is on light to cream-coloured card and P235b is on darker card.
