TAG DER BRIEFMARKE

PP122-C-21 and PP127-C-17

Three postcards were issued to commemorate the Day of the Stamp in Aschaffenburg on 7th Jan 1936. PP122-C-21 has a pre-printed 3-Rpf Hindenburg Medallion stamp and PP127-C-17 has a 6-Rpf Hindenburg Medallion stamp, there are two versions of each card. In addition, there was a card without a pre-printed stamp.

3-Rpf HINDENBURG MEDALLION

PP122-C-21/01

The first of the three postcards with a pre-printed 3-Rpf Hindenburg Medallion stamp is inscribed "Tag der Briefmarke | 7. Januar 1936 . Aschaffenburg" on the top left-hand side of the front of the card (the side with the pre-printed stamp). The reverse side is blank.

PP122-C-21/02

This version of the card has printed texts on the reverse side (non-stamp side) regarding the 1936 exhibition.

PP122-C-21/03

The third version of the 3-Rpf card now has an artist's drawing of a postal coach approaching the city of Aschaffenburg on the reverse side.

6-Rpf HINDENBURG MEDALLION

The first of the postcards with a pre-printed 6-Rpf Hindenburg Medallion stamp is inscribed "Tag der Briefmarke | 7. Januar 1936 . Aschaffenburg" on the top left-hand side of the front of the card (the side with the pre-printed stamp). The reverse side is blank.

The second 6-Rpf postcard is identical to the first card, only now the reverse side has an artist's drawing of a postal coach approaching the city of Aschaffenburg.
