BACKGROUND: Issued on 8th Apr 1997 to commemorate PHILATELIA '97' held in COLOGNE from 18th to 20th Apr 1997.

FEATURES: This card measures 148 x 105mm and was produced on white coloured card. The left-hand side is the sender's section and contains four dotted lines for the sender's address and the words "Absender", "(Straße und Hausnummer oder Postfach)", "(Postleitzahl)" and "(Ort)". There are additional lines of text besides the image that read "Philatelia | mit T'Card | Internationale Messe für Briefmarken, | Münzen, Telefonkarten | und Zubehör. | Köln, 18.-20.April 1997"

The right-hand or destination section contains four dotted lines for the destination address as well as the words "Postkarte", "(Straße und Hausnummer oder Postfach)", "(Postleitzahl)" and "(Bestimmungsort)".

The reverse of the card is blank and 285,000 cards were printed. Sale of the cards was available from the usual collector's services from 12th Sep 1997 and from the exhibition from 18th to 20th Apr 1997

The pre-printed stamp is a multicoloured Michel 1898, 80 Pf stamp and has the inscription "Deutschland | Für den Sport 1997" .
