BACKGROUND: The second card in a set of 5 commemorative cards that was issued in Aug/Sep 1999 to commemorate the turn of the millennium. The card measures 235 x 125 mm and was produced on white card.

SPECIAL CANCELLATIONS: "Jahrtausend-Sonderstempel 31.12.1999 and 1.1.2000".

FEATURES: The left-hand side is the sender's section and contains three dotted lines for the sender's address and the words "Absender", "(Straße und Hausnummer oder Postfach)", "(Postleitzahl)" and "(Ort)"

On the bottom left-hand edge are two lines of texts Motiv: "Auf dem Weg" | Entwurf: Yvonne Dettmar, Hamburg

The right-hand or destination section contains four dotted lines for the destination address as well as the words "Postkarte", "(Straße und Hausnummer oder Postfach)", "(Postleitzahl)" and "(Bestimmungsort)".

447,000 sets of cards were printed.

The pre-printed stamp is a multicoloured Michel 2028, 100 Pf stamp and has the inscription "Deutschland | 1100 Jahre Weimar - Kulturstadt Europas" .
