BACKGROUND: Card 35-53-1-B2 was issued in Apr 1934 and features an image of Tübingen Castle and the Bismarck Column. Hohentübingen Castle is centrally located in the city of Tübingen on a mountain spur. A medieval castle was built here in the 11th century and replaced in the 16th century with a new building, a mixture of fortress and modern castle, using the old moat walls. The card is inscribed as follows:
