BACKGROUND: Issued to commemorate the 50th Crossing of the Atlantic Ocean by the airship 'Graf Zeppelin L.Z 127' whilst visiting the Chicago World's Fair.One part of a set of three stamps including 2 Mark and 4 Mark. They copy the design of the original 1928 and 1931 Zeppelin stamps but have an additional inscription "Chicagofahrt Weltausstellung 1933" overprint.
VALIDITY: 25th Sep 1933 to 31st Dec 1937
